Ok, last time it’s late I promise. Real life keeps happening and yeah, its a bitch.
Alright, starting off the episode with a quick recap, Death Gun was in SAO (the game) before, and was part of the Player Killer guild, The Laughing Coffins, and of course, threatens to kill him. Looks like Kirito is realizing that this is, in fact, very real. The Laughing Coffin (TLC, which I find hilarious) killed people, like, for real. Remember SAO was a death game, they specifically went around in PvP, killing unsuspecting players. This is the point where I’d say “Naw, I’m out”.
Kirito get’s a pretty sick flashback to the SAO days. Apparently they managed to find the TLC HQ, and plan to raid it. Kirito, Asuna, the red head Kirito met on the first day, and a bunch of people from the lead guilds went to fight, but it seems the plan leaked. All in all, the fight cost about 30 people their lives, 20 of them TLC members. 2 of them died by Kirito’s hand. Of course, this is honestly really traumatizing, realizing that you took a life, and Kirito doesn’t seem to be coping well, a year after the whole thing ended. End flashback.
Kirito is debating who Death Gun is, but he doesn’t look like he’s doing to good. He’s got that whole hair falling over his eyes thing, shadows, and a scared look on his face. Shinon come up and berates him, telling him that if his first match did this to him, he won’t reach the finals, and starts to walk away. Kirito grabs her hand and looks at her like a lost child, which makes Shinon see herself in him. As she asks what’s wrong he vanishes. Into his fight, calm down. I thought he logged out for a bit, tbh.
In battle, Kirito goes into a berserk mode, taking a ton of hits just to get close. None of them seem to really affect him, but it’s worth noting he got shot quite a bit. He closes in, slashes his opponent and wins. After this, we see one of Shinon’s “fights”, which I put in quotes because she one shots him. Well, TECHNICALLY, two shots, but the first one was shot to a distraction. One thing, though, that guy had a car. I don’t know WHERE it came from, but if Kirito can get his hands on one, he’s set for BoB.
Now, this is the good part. Shinon vs Kirito. The match starts with Shinon taking cover in a bus, waiting for Kirito. She sees him approaching with all the calm in the world. She gets pissed, thinking he’s not taking it as seriously as she is, so her aim starts to go crazy (the circle they get when they’re aiming a shot fluctuates, but the more stressed you are the bigger it gets). She misses about 9 shots, leaving her with 1. She closes in, and calls him out on it. Kirito listens to her concerns and addresses them accordingly.
WITH A DUEL.
SNIPER VS MELEE, WHO WILL COME OUT VICTORIOUS?!
Well, I mean we KNOW who wins, let me have my moment though! 10 meters (33 feet for our Imperial friends), she snipes him, he dashes. Now, one thing I don’t think I’ve mentioned, Sniper Rifles have an attribute where the first shot fired in a fight, doesn’t have a magic red line that helps dodge it. This means that the shot has a 100% chance of hitting at 10m. She agrees (cause seriously, what sniper wouldn’t). She takes the shot and
He slices the bullet in half
*sigh* I mean, I’m not surprised anymore, but come on. Kirito closes in, they have a heart to heart, and Shinon tells him he better find her in the next round. She forfeits, and Kirito is declared the winner of F Block. Of course, Death Gun is watching. Credits.
I mean, I LIKE SAO (the fact that I have to repeat that every time makes it suspect, I think) but cutting bullets in half? Man, they’re just making Kirito into a Gary Stu. Ah well, tune in next week, for another episode summary of SAO II, and feel free to discuss the episode in the comments below.
