Prefer the Playstation 4 controller to the Playstation 3, but don’t have a cable long enough to reach your bed? The Dualshock 4 controller included with your PS4s is now able to connect wirelessly with PS3s, following a firmware update.
According to Reddit users, the controller works the same as if it was plugged in, meaning no sixaxis or haptic features, as well as the PS button not working as hoped. Still, having an additional controller is never a bad thing!
To set up your new(?) controller, just head over to your accessory settings, and under “manage bluetooth devices” select “Register a New Device”, following that hold down the PS button on your Dualshock 4 until you see the PS3 recognize a “Wireless Controller” and voila! You have an additional controller to play with!
Something real quick to remember is that the Dualshock can only connect to one console at a time, so if you want to reconnect it to your PS4, you’ll have to re-sync it.
Will you make use of this feature, or do you have more than enough controllers for all your friends? Find it dumb because it doesn’t have full functionality? Or do you just not care? Either way, let us know what you think in the comments below, or tweet us @NerdworkTweets!
