It’s that time of the year again where we subject ourselves to a grueling 8 hours of fun all in the name of charity.
Extra Life is an annual charity event aimed at raising money for children through gaming. You sign up, play games for 24 hours straight (you’re also free to choose your hours), and get donations to the extra-life charity which helps children through the Children’s Miracle Hospital Network. Gaming blogs, game journalists, game industry personalities and gamers have taken part and so far have raised over $2 million for this years extra-life event. The official “gameday” this year is November 7th, but several participants have already participated and streamed their sessions. We are pledging to play for 8 hours starting at 5pm to raise $500 for Rady Children;s Hospital & you watch us play the following on our Twitch.tv channel:Can we count on you to help us raise money and get the word out? Click HERE for the link to our fundraising page to donate and/or share for visibility. There will also be giveaways, live podcast recording of The Catchup Podcast #30 (you probably noticed it’s been on hiatus, it’s because I wanted to save #30 for this day), TheNerdwork.net ‘s weekly gaming news podcast, and just some all around sweet hangs with the Nerdwork crew + friends!
