Science! Adventure! Danger!
Get ready boys and girls.
This episode you get to meet “Mud”, but we’ll get to that later.
Another local endeavor. We set our sights on a building adjacent to the one we actually got into, but abandoned (Haha) that idea when we saw trucks and people in the open bay doors.
Fortunately to the left was this boarded up beauty.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find much information on this building, but the company that had occupied it until they changed location started in 2007. When researched literally all that came up when I put in the address was…well… the address…
You you don’t get a fun history lesson today besides it was previously a glazing factory.
So, Jay and I were super butthurt about not being able to get into our intended target and this other building was no easy in.
Sliding ourselves along the outside walls we saw everything was cemented shut and surrounded by a metal wall….
Then we came to the train tracks and a small bend in the metal wall.
Hoisting myself over after Jay we found ourselves in a large open space faced with a huge open bay door…
Easy enough! They might as well had a “please, hop wall and come in” sign.
The moment we walked in I knew I liked this place.
My type of building. Still standing, but decaying just that right amount.
We go through the first two big open rooms and they were everything we expected.
I followed cute little cat prints in hopes of finding a furry baby, with no avail.
Having hit the end of the lower part of the complex we head back towards the first room, I start taking more pictures..
Crap, this is it, this is the time we’re going to get caught.
I immediately tell Jay to stop moving and we wait…
We come around the corner and see a bike. Looking forward we see a gentleman literally dragging a piece of metal like Pyramid Head in Silent Hill.
I died just a little bit, we weren’t going to get caught, we were going to die.
I said “Hello”, He responded “Hey”
I asked his name and he goes
I asked Mud if I could take his picture, He told me no, that camera’s stole your soul.
H’okaaayy, on your way then, Sir….
Establishing that Mud was no immediate threat (and seriously wondering how the hell he got a freaking bike into this place) we went to the basement accessible through the first room.
It was some sort of washing station and locker room.
We went back a second time and this was completely flooded, I mean 8 plus feet of water, flooded.
Having our fill of dark and dank we went towards the light.
Hellloooo hallway, you beautiful decaying piece of work, you.
We had found the offices.
And really creepy Father’s Day cards….
oh, the safe too.
A freaking walk in safe.
Not much else in the offices besides old junk.
Upstairs, Upstairs, Upstairs!
Welcome to the laboratory! Science! Chemicals! Danger!
This was the most brilliant part of the place.
I mean, who wouldn’t love open bottles of chemicals and gas masks?
Cause this lady does.
Secret lab? Homeless man’s chemical concoctions?
Who knows, but it was really cool.
So, Last but not least, the roof.
This was a catwalk of metal “we are up too high”
Jay was a little more brave on venturing to the edge.
We finished up and retreated back inside to avoid the eyes of active businesses around us.
Carefully walking through Mud’s domain we hopped the wall and slinked back to the car.
At least we got into somewhere!
Questions? Comments? Do you know what this place is?
