The Marvel Universe has ended, the Ultimate Universe is no more. Everything Marvel has ever done and created has been thrown into a blender of stories for their Secret Wars event. Every iteration of all our favorite Marvel Characters now reside in the patchwork that is Battleworld where they all try to survive and fulfill their own agenda under the reign of Doctor Doom, but we’re not here to talk about what happens with Battleworld— instead of where it will all end up.
Coming this fall, fans everywhere will be introduced to the perfect start to the Marvel Universe, with some of the most creative minds in the comic book industry at the helm. Brian Michael Bendis, Jason Aaron, Mark Waid, Dan Slott, Charles Soule, G. Willow Wilson, Jeff Lemire, along with many more, will take it upon themselves to craft the new Marvel.
“This fall, we will be inviting readers into a universe comprised of bold new landscapes populated with characters and teams both familiar and brand-new.” — Axel Alonso, Marvel Editor in Chief
David Gabriel, SVP of Sales & Marketing Says, “Similar to the most successful comics industry program of this century – Marvel NOW!, All-New All-Different Marvel is going to be presenting fans new #1’s for every title coming out during this event. This is a brand new beginning that honors our past 76 years, yet takes a bold step with daring, and accessible, entry points. Simply stated – this is Marvel!”
Why is slapping a #1 on their books such a big deal? Because it is important to take that intimidating factor away from newcomers, how many times has someone asked you — where should I start? This is it. Don’t call it a reboot, but a reshaping of the universe.
It seems Marvel plans on bringing Wolverine back already! With their latest teasers showcasing an X-23 donning the blue and yellow garb, and what seems to be old man Logan standing right beside her! Now, before anybody lashes out like they did when they found out Thor was going to be a girl, remember these are already established characters — change is good and Thor has had a phenomenal run with SPOILER, Jane Foster wielding Mjolnir!
Other Changes worth noting is the appearance of Spider-Man Miles Morales, And Spider-Gwen! These characters are being incorporated to the Marvel Universe and I couldn’t be more excited to see what they do with it.
Back on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Front we can see Agent Coulson Joined by Falcon-Cap and Old Cap as well! It would be interesting to see how much of the comic world will transition into the cinematic universe now that they’re bringing the characters from the movies onto their print world.
But hey, let us know what you think in the comments down below or over @NerdworkTweets!, let us know how outrageous you find it that Captain America refuses to use Just for men and is rocking them grays!
